      Probably the cooling fans trying to keep it cool. I remove the side of the case for maximum air flow ... but then, I don't have any young hands around that I need to worry about.

        Check for excess dust on fan blades top and bottom, also check for obstructions on front , it's a good idea to also operate with the front USB access open to allow additional air flow , most important, a cool environment . hope this helps.
