When you buy an electrical connector there will be a wiring code printed on the packaging.
Here is the code for a standard 7 pin connector.
Pin # connects to wire color
1 left indicator yellow
2 reverse lights black
3 earth/ground white
4 right indicator green
5 electric brakes blue
6 stop light red
7 tail light brown
