I bought a car with salvage title. The owner said due to car sitting in a garage for many years he had to

get the car registered as salvage. How it is possible to get the salvage title off the car and make it
ordinary title with the DMV. ?

It needs to be inspected by the highway patrol, at least in Ohio. Something doesn't sound right. Just because a car has been sitting you don't need a salvage title for it. He should have been able to use the original title. Even if it's lost you can get a replacement. Not a salvage title.
