    How do I get rid of this black screen that is taking up my left side of my computer?

    Someone must have shortened my screen space. What can I do to widen it back to normal?

      Hold your cursor on the very edge of the short side until you see a double ended arrow appear then click on the left click and hold, do not release the click and drag the window to the edge of the screen and then release the left click.
