    Fructose is a monosaccharide (simple sugar), which the body can use for energy. Because it does not cause blood sugar rise tremendously Despite only recently being mass produced, fructose has been enjoyed by humans, animal and insects for centuries. Fructose occurs naturally in fruits. Grapes, pears and bananas contain the highest amount of fructose.
