Yes you do..         Some one or some pop up could send you a message, with a virus,  this will damage your computer. In end you will have to pay much more, to have your computer fixed, then the price of anti virus. Also think about then length of time, you wont be able to use your computer.

If you are using a Microsoft you need Virus protection.  Mac and Linux are immune to viruses by virtue of their program design.
