Restart the computer in Safe Mode.

Click on "Start" and then click on "Control Panel."

Click on "User Accounts" (Windows XP) or "User Accounts and Family Safety" (Windows Vista).

Click on "Change an Account" (Windows XP) or "Change Your Windows Password" (Windows Vista).

Select the account with the administrative password.

Click on "Change Your Password" and enter the current password, and then the password you want to use. Confirm the new password. In Windows Vista, you can enter a password hint that you can use in case you forget the password.

Click on "Change Password" to set the new password. Restart the computer in Normal Mode, and enter the new password to log in as the computer's administrator.
