I have a Mac Mini. When I send an attachment from my mac to a receiver using a Microsoft product they can't open my attachment. Is there a program that the receiver can download that will allow them to open up my attachments.

This is a posting I found in Apple Support Communities by blackfoxop and it could offer a solution for your problem.

Just came across this issue myself. We have a creative department at one of our client's office that uses Macs and they are having the same issues. After spending some time investigating the problem, we found that Apple Mail was the culprit. The cause, as explained earlier, was the e-mail messages were being formatted incorrectly. We checked with both Microsoft and Apple and found out that Apple does not code based upon what Microsoft's standards are. Case and point, Apple does the exact opposite at times. If Apple wants to give Mac users the ability to use Microsoft Exchange on their own mail client, two things should be clear. One is Microsoft has to give them permission, which means Apple asked for it. Two, Apple should have coded it to work correctly to begin with. I mean, the iPhone has Active Sync support, and to my knowledge works great. I digress...

The solution we found that worked best was using a neat little app called Attachment Tamer. It can be found here: http://lokiware.info/Attachment-Tamer
