Coordinated Universal Time, the official measure of time in the world, which is independent from the time zones. Such a measure is calculated as a statistical average of several worldwide atomic clocks and it's periodically corrected by adding or subtracting the "Leap Second" to keep the difference between UTC and Earth rotation time below 0.9 seconds. In practice UTC corresponds to the Greenwich Mean Time (GMT), the mean solar time of the zero meridian crossing Greenwitch (Great Britain). Italian local time is one hour ahead UTC (two hours during daylight saving time).
