There are few methods of steel production:
- In the relatively new steelmaking process called Electric Arc Furnace, a mixture of about 86 percent of scrap steel and about 14 percent iron is used.
- In The Basic Oxygen Furnace, a mixture of about 25-30 percent of scrap steel and about 70-75 percent metal is used.
- The Electric Furnace process, 100 percent scrap steel is used.
