If the nail/area around the nail is infected, then it's too late to follow through with the video.  See a doctor.

You really should get it cut out by a podiatrist , but if  you have to take care of it yourself, then soak it about 3 x  per day in warm water that has a little Ivory liquid soap in it. After each soaking, dry it and apply anti-biotic ointment, and wrap it up ( not tight ) in gauze.
