          They still go by the old testament, they don't believe Jesus died and rose for us to made all things new.

            Muslims, Jews and others don't eat pork because it is in the scriptures.  Because Pigs eat anything -even filth, for health reason it could be avoided (although it may not apply now) Also itmay  produce heat in the body .

                  Suras  5:3, 6:145, 16:115  of the Koran forbid the consumption of pork.

                        Some Catholics do not, for the same reason Muslims do not eat pork, it is a religious observance.
