Not hardly. In socialism there is no private ownership of property. It's in the form of a collective, just try and get people here to seriously let the state have their property for a collective. Also, while the central government here has a great deal of power as far as the economy and such is concerned, ultimately it's still controlled by the people through capitalism. While politicians argue over the degree of government in economy both sides are aware that capitalism is the most efficient form. People throw the word socialism around like candy and most of the time they don't know what they're talking about. Our government is socialist in many areas, but this isn't necessarily bad because it isn't a distorted form, such as communism. Besides, if Obama is a socialist because thats left wing theory, what are you conservatives, faciest dictators, since that a right wing philsophy? You know, forcing your religious views on others, intolerent of other beliefs and lifestyles, absolutely positive that you know morality better than the next person, so you want to denigrate them and their existence. I guess there is enough sanctimony on both sides of the fence.
