How to Repair a Failed Print Spooler

Log on to your computer and click on the "Start" button. Choose "Control Panel" from the list of options.

Look for the "Administrative Tools" icon. In Windows Vista and Windows 7 the "Administrative Tools" icon might not be visible. If so, click the "Classic View" icon and the full list of icons will appear.

Double-click on the "Administrative Tools" icon and then on the "Services" icon. Scroll down the list until you see the "Print Spooler" service.

Right-click on the "Print Spooler" service and choose "Start" from the drop-down list. Wait for the status to change to "Started," then try your print job again.
