mrsa is a highly infuctious staph infection that is transmissible through direct or indirect contact with the pus or from the infection on someones skin

    methacillan resitant staph aureus.

the nurse is absolutely correct, and it can be very difficult to treat and cure.

Everyone has the MRSA cells in their body, some more then others. When those cells are exposed to air and the conditions are perfect, the patient will contract MRSA. I got mine in a hospital.19 weeks of antibiotics right in the vein and 6 weeks on pill form. Also 3 surgeries to remove dead flesh. That merely contained it . It is still in my foot still. If that foot is ever opened up again I have a very high risk of it flaring up again. It is kind of a crap shoot as to who gets it, the conditions have to be just right.
