hard part is finding the right ram then you take the cver off locate existing ram you can take it out and it will be marked with every thing U need to know and plu right back in and the new plugs right in to one of the empty slots right next to it as long as your ram is expandale{ still has empty slots have to do mine and memory is olny half from hp they do recommend doing it in pairs
