The exact cuases of high blood pressure are not known, but there are many factors that have been found to be corelated to high blood presure:
- Lack of physical activity.
- Adrenal and thyroid disorders.
- Smoking.
- Being overweight or obese.
- Too much alcohol consumption (more than 1 to 2 drinks per day).
- Beening old.
- Genetics (more common in certain families than in others).
- Too much salt in the diet.
- Chronic kidney disease.
- Stress.
