    The oldest city in the U.S. is as MONDEOMAN stated,Saint Augustine,    Florida. Was founded in 1565. Also the oldest city can ce considered Jamestown.Virginia founded on 1607. It was established under British Rule (in Americas) before the US existed. So Jamestown is really the same categary as St Augustine in what it was an established settlement by an European Nation before the United States came into existance in July 4th 1776.
