Can it bite you....it depends on the age.
The baby may not be lost. Is it walking on it's own? The mother may be looking for it. Can it climb a tree by itself? Put it in a tree if it can.
I just don't have enough information from you to really help. A picture of it could help me to know how young it is and if it is still nursing. Call a local vet tomorrow for advice. Try and see if it will take water at least or milk if you can't spare the water.

The baby left after about 24 hours. Kept the cats away for that long to give it a chance. Hopfully it is reunited with Mom. Gave it some small dry cat food which was gone when I went out to check its hiding spot. never heard such a scream from such a small baby!!!1
