if u follow the evolution theroy...it is because our jaws used to be longer. as humans evolved our jaws got shorter. hince we dont need them anymore but they have not gone away.

Our heads got smaller, our bones thinner, we are losing our hair, our pinky toes and fingers are going away-- Can you imagine what we will look like in another 4.5 million years?? ACK?
