  Please don't take what I'm about to tell you as 100% accurate because I'm not 100% sure. We were reading up on this disease in class a few months ago and I think I remember that we discussed this disease is passed from the mother to the male son. So if your dad had it, than more than likely you will not develop it. Also, in my notes that I just looked over, I have written down where  this is a highly curable disease. I hope this lessons the worry some.

Family history. While some patients with lymphoma claim to have family members also afflicted with the disease, there is no known evidence that lymphoma is hereditary. In some instances, conditions that affect the immune system may run in families, therefore increasing the chances of lymphoma developing within families.
