Currently there are no diagnostic tests, such as x-rays or blood tests, to detect fibromyalgia. The symptoms of fibromyalgia may overlap with the symptoms of some other conditions. That is why fibromyalgia is sometimes difficult for healthcare professionals to diagnose.
Discuss all of your symptoms with your doctor.
Good luck!

There are doctors who still say it doesn't exist. Most doctors (California, USA) know that exists and also know the only way to ease the pain is opiod medication. They will have to trust you to prescribe this kind of medication. It's probably not a good idea to ask for it ... just describe your symptoms carefully. I hope you find good health care.
