No they just sense smoke caused by fire and carbon monoxide. You need a separate detector for carbon dioxide http://www.braschmfg.com/Products/Detectors/BGS-CD.htm

There are separate detectors for smoke and carbon monoxide. Carbon dioxide is not a problem unless in very high concentrations which you are unlikely to encounter in normal conditions.

We have detectors here that are for both smoke and carbon monoxide. The separate ones do work best however.
