    VITAMINS?

Rather than take a multiple, I ply myself with a variety of supplements every day (fish oil, flaxseed oil, B-complex, D, E, calcium, cod liver oil, etc.).  Do you take a vitamin or supplement(s)?  If so, what?  Oh, I also take an 81 mg aspirin every day, too.   THANKS FOR YOUR ANSWERS.

I take calcium, cod liver oil, vit C, vit, E, and others off and on, but I'm still a wreak.

You stress too much about your faith. Enjoy your blessings and keep praying for everyone. There is little you can do to control others' thoughts, actions, or values. Be a good example for others....walk the walk. I know you do....don't worry about talking the talk. And hey, you have less than 5,000 for the big 100,000 karma points. COOL BEANS

Thanks, but I don't stress about my faith, but my wife and I are planing some big changes soon that may be stressful, moving.
But I'm off this weekend to a mens retreat so I can come back Monday a new man......lol

I didn't mean that you stress about your faith. I feel like you stress about spreading the Good News and often end up defending your faith instead of advocating it. That, to me, would be stressful.
Look forward to hearing from a rested, renewed Randy after the retreat. Your wife is blessed to share her life with you (and vice versa, I am sure).

dont get too new randy, your wife may not recognize you! lol!

Back from retreat and had a great time, a 25 year old boy that I knew for years has changed his life and had a story that had 10 grown men wiping there eyes after hearing his testimony.
    GREAT STORY!

If your eating 3 healthy meals a day,you really don't need to take anything,i have heard some vitamins are a waste of money. If you feel the benefits of what you are taking, well thats a good thing, keep doing what your doing.

My diet leaves much to be desired. Some of my supplements are for heart health....both of my parents had heart attacks and bypasses, as have other aunts, uncles, cousins. My overall cholesterol is around 215-220, though the LDL, HDL, and tryglycerides are all in optimum ranges. Some of my supplements allegedly aid in reducing cholesterol. I exercise regularly, generally stay away from fast food and high fat foods. Just don't eat regularly....

I take all the Bs and fish oil lecithin policosanol Vit D and i gulp them all down in one throw yet if I was to take a paracetemol I choke to death weird a

yes I do   morning and  nite  handful each time.  LOL

I'm a  vitamin junkie been taking them for yrs.  E, C, B-12 , multible, Beta C ,  and supplements galore

COOL BEANS. It's nice to have someone else shoveling vitamins and minerals down the throat every day. Do you swallow all of them at once or take them in 2's and 3's? I swallow my 11 all at once.

I am border line anemic... The Dr. said that by taking vitamins I could change that to the better. I'm dieting which accounts for my lacking so, taking vitamins can;t hurt...

    Bob/PKB

Dieting makes it hard to eat as healthfully as we know we should. I have always found the Weight Watchers program to be successful; it's "real" food, with logical portions, and moderate exercise. With your health issues, though, you do have a tougher row to hoe, and I applaud your efforts....not easy. I had gestational diabetes and it was a rough few months with the insulin shots and glucose testing and a couple of 3-alarm low blood sugar numbers. I am thankful I have no serious health concerns yet.
    jhharlan

I am so glad it was "only" gestational diabetes. The shots are over for you (& what a pain in the "gut" or where ever that was) and you are more aware about how people should eat...If everybody ate like a diabetic should, we'd all be a bit slimmer and a lot healthier...I'm trying to starve myself into slimness so my BG are low thus my borderline anemia...
    Bob/PKB

You know you cant' starve yourself into slimness, only sickness. Now, contact Weight Watchers and inquire about the special programs they have for people with health issues. I just know they can get you on the right track. If you'll try it, I'll get busy on dumping my extra 15 pounds Weight Watchers style. Let me know.
    jhharlan

I starved myself to get the ball rolling...Now I'm eating healthier (I'm eating...) and maintaining at 150... 140 and I'll be happy and down to a size 12. I have a whole new wardrobe waiting for me to get back into...

i  too  take 3 ,300 mg of omega3 fish oil as well as asprin on a daily basis weather or not it does anything , who knows i've put one one pound in the last 5 years my doctor was totaly impressed, that i even came in for a check up.

    Bob/PKB

DANG! You are awesome! Good metabolism, smart eating, exercise????? C'mon, how do you do it?
    daren1

    exercise ? maybe a little..

Yes take the fish oil, flax, borage, . Astaxanthin has really made a big difference though. arthritic condition all but gone, better eye sight. Alpha lipoic acid, barley tablets to not create an acidic blood system. An acidic body creates sickness.  Look up benefits of astaxanthan. You will be surprised.

The only real constant that I take is the blood pressure pill, admittedly there have been times in the past that a three month supply has lasted 6 months until my doctor caught on so finally it has become the only constant habit for any pills. Unfortunately my ex was a pill popper so even my kids balk at taking pills for pain. Recently a member turned me on to Manuka Honey to help heal some lacerations (I thank her ever so much) and looking deeper into the product, it has so many great healing qualities that a teaspoon a day just might keep the doctor away.

    Bob/PKB

Manuka Honey! I'll check it out. There's a honey pusher a couple miles away! Thanks. And keep taking care of yourself!

i take, glucophage, levothyroxin, robaxin, simvastatin, effexor, lexapro, lasix  and just the thoughts of these meds make me so sick to my stomach i like nigh throw up. if i take them i do become very sick. not pukey. just very sick to my stomach. i cant take vities, my body swells up when i do. i think i need to stop taking everything.

    Bob/PKB

What on earth are all those things supposed to do for you? I've only heard of lexapro (which I used to take) and lasix. Really...what are all those meds for?
    carmaxable

glucophage is for my borderline diabetes, levothyroxin is for my under active thyroid, robaxin is a muscle relaxer, simvastatin lowers cholesterol, effexor and lexapro is for depression, lasix doubles for blood pressure and diuretic, plus an aspirin to keep my blood thin
