Time is an illusion. It is a measure of the delay between placing an empty pot into a basin of water and waiting for it to fill. Also how many pots of water can be filled with water over the course of a day, dawn to dusk. That events are delayed here is a condition brought about by a rhythmic rate generated at the center of all material common to this universe. The control of time by such processes enables a person to do many things that cannot otherwise be done. Such as reliably win at games of chance often viewed as luck, and not being involved in an accident that is avoided without expressed intent. What is eternal is you...the personality you are. Here, we experience the delay of events we call time as part of our identity in our agreed perception of this universe.

Ok Robert, so how can something have always been? Looking for knowledge here, not theories.
If eternity exists then it could not have had a beginning and will not ever end. Things here seem to be in some sort of progressional state that is about change. Life begins with erection and goes through a process of continual change to some state known only to the creative powers. Beyond that, we're all in this together and trying to figure it out in the presence of the eternal is probably the most futile way to waste time. May as well enjoy the day and accept the eventuation of compost.

Not only God can answer that. At one point we didn't even know about space. We just haven't found the technology to get further yet.
God being Eternal would actually have no explanation either. How could God explain how He has always been? There is no explanation, only a statement of fact. God says "I AM".
Understand that time is of the 4th dimension. god is in a dimension far beyond our own, such as the 7th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th, 12th, 13th?.. who knows how far it goes. If you actually believe that God is a living being. God is the universe, and we are a part of the web of that truth. Time is not a factor when you live outside of time, spiritual energy is not affected by time, though our physical perception is.

Take a strip of paper about 1" wide and 12" long, twist it once and attach the ends. Now hold it, run you finger along the top and when you arrive at the same place again, you will be on the bottom. No begining, no end, kinda like a wormhole. (Google is your friend)
The unique properties of a Mobius strip is that if you are tracing the length then it can be said that the strip has only one side. But the universe has not collapsed into 2 dimensions. If it had then the mobius strip would suggest the existence of a third dimension. Are you confused yet?

One has to step out of their finite mind, into a dynamic binary thought to understand this. No beginning and no end is describing the eternal realm. It is somewhat easier to understand this dimension if you can conceive it as spherical, where everything happens at once, in opposing duality.

Quantum theory states that small particles can come into existence temporarily, then pop out again, by borrowing energy from the universe. Maybe over a very very long period of time, the build up of particles popping into existence was significant and physical laws about particular interactions governed the rest.
