Slice them vertically and horizontally and dump them in hot canola oil until golden brown. Voila ! The only way to cook potatoes. Don't know if the French invented this recipe but who cares? Add gravy and cheese curds and you're anywhere in the Canadian province of Quebec. Poutine is its name.
