General William Childs Westmoreland, born 1914- died 2005 at age 91. He was from South Carolina. He was in WW11, Korean War, and Viet Nam.
He did it all!
He was decorated with the highest medal the Army gives,
The Merit of Legions, he received three time! This is the highest medal ever given!
Distinguished Service Medal, 3 times
Bronze Star, 2 times
Air Medal, 10 times.
He gave a speech for 29 minutes, it was a very short speech, it was interrupted 19 times by applauses.
He was also a boy scout/Eagle scout in his youth!
