    4.5% , if it were money, would be less than five cents, but more than four cents.  a penny is 1% of a dollar (100 pennies = $1)  A nickel would be 5%.  Hope this helps.


    A per cent is 1/100th of a whole 1 thing.  100% actually represents 1 (whole thing).  It's not really complicated, but it can be confusing.


    If you had 50% of a pie, you would have half of it....half of one pie.  If you had 100% of a pie, you would have all of it...one whole pie.
