Have you never had water? What does it taste like to you?
My understanding is that water is not supposed to have a flavor (unless you have flavored it purposely). If it does, then it is not clean, pure water. I wouldn't drink it.

you do have to admit,ice water tastes pretty darn good on a hot day
totally admit that. the water at my parents' home (and later mine, too) was well water. I couldn't tell you what made it taste better, just that it somehow did.
