      dB, decibel :  is a unit that indicates the ratio of physical quantity, relative to a specifed or imlied reference level. A ratio in decibles in ten times the logarithm to base ten of the ratio of two power quqntities. A decible is (one tenth)  of a bel, a seldom used unit.
