    Bottled Water Why?

I notice in my local supermarket that bottled water takes up a whole aisle, and for some time has been one of the big growth areas in the retail trade. And yet the results of every test I have ever seen published conclude that the stuff comming out of your tap is of purer quality than the stuff they are putting in bottles. Now I dont really have a problem with the water, its all the plastic bottles that cause concern. Every week millions of these things are dumped, and they either have to be expensively recycled, or put into landfill. In view of the increasing problem this is causing, I think the government should treat the producers in the same way that they treated the tobacco industry, and make them put warnings on the bottles. I sugest something along these lines.
    THIS PRODUCT IS COMPLETELY UN-NECCESSARY
    THIS PRODUCT IS ENVIRAMENTALLY UNFRIENDLY
THIS PRODUCT CAN SERIOUSLY DAMMAGE TOUR WALLET

I have a water filtration device on my faucet.Paid $16.00 work's great water taste great.

some states ,probally not enough do have "bottle bills" which means just like it sounds .you pay a 5 cent deposit for each and avery bottle, and if not returned you pay for it at the time of purchse..lots of people, probaly the same ones that through them away dont care enough! which creates a new class "urban pioneers" who make an etire living at collecting "emptys"! why its not a national law is beond me perhaps congress is full of "emptys"

Depends where you live. My tap water sucks, I have two filters which filters all the water coming into my home. Still tastes like s**t. I wish something could be done with the plastic, But at this point my health is more important and having to replace all the plumbing in my house because the pipes are corroding is not an option.

I've been laughing at people with their store bought bottled tap water for years. I thought it would be a fad but its hanging on. The study on the plastic waste from water bottles plus the cancer causing toxins that leach from the plastic.. better off drinking water from the garden hose.. :)
