Dow Jones Industrial Average or "The Dow" is the most widely followed index in the world.  Though not as good a representation as the S&P 500 (it has 500 companies in its universe), the Dow has 30 stocks that started out being industrial stocks.  However, throughout the years, the structure of the U.S. market changed and the representation has thus shifted to more high tech, pharmaceuticals, banks, and other sectors besides industrials.

Some of the companies include:  Johnson and Johnson, IBM, MMM, Caterpillar, JP Morgan, Disney, Proctor and Gamble, Merck, General Electric, Exxon Mobil, Home Depot, Dupont, Alcoa, Hewlett Packard, Intel, Microsoft, and Walmart.
