Why don't you just go to the app's site from your computer and download them that way?

well a friend gave me this iphone and I know nothing about it and I am trying to learn. I tried to download an app from google and an email address popped up from the previous owner and then it asked me for an apple id which I do not have. Doing some digging I was told to download my apps to my computer then reset my phone and reload my apps. I do not know how to send the apps on the phone to my computer so I can do that
