    An orbit is the path of a celestial body or artificial satellite as it revolves around another body.

    Though there are many definitions regarding "Orbit".


    Here is a simple one for you.


    Orbit is the path[ generally considered as round or elliptical] around which the one body revolves or rotates around the other.


    In case of atom, electrons revolve around the atom and path is also known as shell or stationary orbit or ground energy level.


    In case of solar system, planets revolve around the sun and the path is known as orbit.
