    How far does a honey bee fly from its hive?

    Bees will usually forage within a radius of three miles (five kilometres) from the hive, but have been known to go as far as five miles (eight kilometres). Having said that, they will only go as far as they need to go: if there is good forage nearby they won't go any further.
