    is there a law that gives employees a right to a 10 minute break (within a 4 hour work period)???

    It depends on the labor laws of the country in which you work. Depending on the type of worker you are, some employees never take a break, even though they are entitled to do so. There are also employers however, who insist on their employees taking breaks.

    you have to work 6 hours before you get a break. And then it's only a 15 min break. If you have a nice boss, she / he might let you take a 5 or 10 min break when you work 4 hours.
