Mushroome grown commercially are raised either in cellars or dark sheds on a growing medium of horse manure or straw treated artificially with nutrients. By adding 'spawn' which is mushroom mycelium the growth is started.

    no shrooms for itsmee!

Love musshies, and nomdeplume is correct  they are raised in the dark mainly in sheds.

Hence the mushroom principle "kept in the dark and fed shit" Bit like politics actualy.
