Use a tampon, the slimmest size. If that works, fine. if not try thicker until you see no leakage. Do NOT leave them in too long... and remember to take out the last each month. If you get backache try a hot water bottle or a microwavable heat pad. For headache take paracetamol, but as few doses as possible and NEVER more than the recommended maximum dose. And don't worry... every girl's cycle is a different length... sometimes periods can be heavy at first... it can take a few months to settle down. Make a habit of carrying a tampon with you; they are small & discreet, though the ones with applicators are easier to use at first.
