    Yes Lightening does come from the ground!!!

    it can be both, from the sky to the ground as well as the ground to the sky..

    Lightning comes from both, sky/ground. Lightning streaks inside a cloud, between clouds and from clouds to the ground.

    Don't be rediculous.

    Lightning flows in both directions because it is made up of excessive negative charged electrons which are attracted to an excess of positive charged electrons. Lightning also flows between oppositely charged clouds. Lightning heats the air which then rapidly cools and contracts causing a sound wave, which we know as thunder.
