500 pages is too long for me unless I give up on this site.

"" No, I'm too busy...I'm writing my own.

    Daisy!

I'll read it!!!! I won't use it in the out house either! What a shocker!

You can read it when it's finished and published in five years because that's how long it takes. Plus, I don't care where you read it, Daisy
    Daisy!

    it takes 5 years?

She types really slow, like old lady slow. I know. I hear her typing when we're on Skype.

    hehehe

Yes, it takes around five years it depends on the publisher. Include the time it takes to write it. If you are writing a novel, you need at least 85000 to 100000 words. If you are writing a Novella you need about 30000 words. The publisher may ask you to change a part of your book, that means more typing and changing. Then you need to have it assessed by an assessor. It goes on and on...
    Daisy!

I think I'm going to be sick. Five years. I'm glad I didn't know that when I started the book. I wouldn't have bothered.

daisy ... this will make you smile. i know a guy who worked on his book twenty years! I haven't seen him for years so I don't know what happened. ((it was fiction about ships .... borrrrrring)
do you have an editor? do you have an agent? - they help you sell it to the publisher.
You need some readers who will read it and make comments for the front flap of the book.
the best book I found is one called "Is there a book inside you" also your own library on different aspects of writing.
I was in a writing group. we kept each other laughing when we felt like crying. It's so dam hard.
the mechanics of book writing is about half the job. Ugh. writers don't like that. hire as much out as you can.
also, get the writers market .... (sorry I don't have capital letters)

    Daisy!

I guess it didn't take 5 years after all.

I'm writing a book too. It's just for my kids. We've lived in 38 houses (all in California) Each house is a chapter.

Tomorrow I will work on it. I don't really like to. I gotta get  some passion in it.

The working title is ADD TO THE BONE.

Daisy! What oh what are you writing about?

    itsmee

I would like to read a little of it ... maybe more.
    Daisy!

itsmee, I want to read your book.

I tried to get a non-fiction book published about 5 years ago. It was called for childcare providers only!
I did about six years of research talking to providers and i did the job myself for 20 years.
It was VERY difficult to get it published. You have to be prepared to be really public and go where ever your publisher wants you to go. You gotta feel secure talking to large grouple of people. And so much more.
I came close but didn't make it so I published it on my own.
I worked hard and I sure didn't get rich.

Depends on what it's about. Give us a quick idea on the content :)

It's about a French Ballerina studying at Georgetown university, she falls in love, with an instructor. He took a year off from work to teach. He is an  FBI agent. When she found out she leaves him.

She has his child, a genius, and someone tries to kidnap him. The mother is murdered. The kid is a hellion! Very sweet, but  unusual. He is being hidden by someone, can't say who, he  saw his mother murdered. The killer is after him. He start out in the book at 7 years old. After 8 years of running, he finds his father. He doesn't know it's his father. Just FBI agent.

The man(FBI) stumbles onto clues about a 7 year old and the murder of his mom, he is trying to find the kid. The kid is with him the whole time.

His kid is 15, but the boy insist he is 21! He has the brains to pass off for a 21 year old. This is what confuses the FBI agent.

When the bullets start flying he realizes it's his son. The woman he loved was murdered.

Now the killer wants them both.

There is a thousand things I left out. It's fast paced, sad, sweet, funny, and shocking. It has little to do with the FBI. After the first chapter it has a life of its own.

The kid knew this day would come and prepared for it. He has his own idea of Justice lined up for them.  It's creative.

There is a lot of feeling and emotions, it's not technical.

Lets just say it has passion and the love of Daisies.

I would love to read it. Sounds very interesting.

That's cool, I did my research, and most of it related to my degrees and life experiences.  The story can happen, it would be difficult. Very difficult, but still do able!

Remember this is a first novel, I'm learning!!

" I hope its a mystery novel c ain't get my fill of them! "

I'll tell you when it's ready to be publish. I'm scared it may never be good enough to be printed. It was more or less a joke. Sorry if I upset anyone.

How can you say that without ever having read her book? Does your ego make it hard for you to get through doorways?
