I have an ongoing Word document (a daily journal) that should be a normal .doc file, however it has suddenly refused to allow me to save it because it says it's a "Read Only" file. I've NEVER designated it as such. I've done everything Help says to do but when I open the file to Properties, Read Only is NOT checked. What's going on?

i do not know what would make it do that I have to use Microsoft word at work and I think that happened to me once.  The only thing I could figure out to do was to select all, copy and paste into a new document and resave it and once it was resaved and I made sure I could go in there and make changes (not read only) then I deleted the old document.  Hope that works.

Word files can be opened, read, viewed and also via fix corrupt word document
