diameter times pi = circumference
Ex.
π = 3.14159265359
d = 16 > diameter is twice the radius
r = 8 > radius is half of the diameter
Calculator:
16 • π = c or 16π = c
c = 50.2654824574 > rounded to nearest tenth is..........
c = 50.3
Pencil and paper:
d = 16
16 • 3.141 = 50.256 > rounded to nearest tenth is.........
c = 50.3
Usually you are told to use 3.14 for pi on paper and pencil.
d = 16
16 • 3.14 = 50.24
c = 50.24
