    diameter times pi = circumference

    Ex.

    π = 3.14159265359

    d = 16 > diameter is twice the radius

    r = 8 > radius is half of the diameter

    Calculator:

    16 • π = c  or  16π = c

    c = 50.2654824574 > rounded to nearest tenth is..........

    c = 50.3

    Pencil and paper:

    d = 16

    16 • 3.141 = 50.256 > rounded to nearest tenth is.........

    c = 50.3

    Usually you are told to use 3.14 for pi on paper and pencil.

    d = 16

    16 • 3.14 = 50.24

    c = 50.24
