Not to let my bias get in the way, but I think Patek made a good call with the new design. I'm not a fan of the 1526 or 2497 first-series dials – they don't seem as cohesive or balanced compared to what I consider the golden era of the brand link (like the 2499 and 3448). The second series link taps into that later link aesthetic. However, they just don't sell as well on the secondary market.

In an industry that's so often link ruled by the aesthetic pursuit of the timeless the classic link the understated and all those other adjectives making a more ostentatious interpretation of an old reliable link crowd-pleasing model can sometimes be enough to get my heart pounding in a fun way.
