I deleted someone recently from Facebook Friend status. If I remember right, I had the whole list of friends on the screen, clicked on the one (or right-click if left doesn't work). Or I hovered the cursor over some "x" or something. "Delete friend" or something like that appeared when the cursor was over the "x" and I clicked on the "x". Voila. No more friend.
