    Is it bad karma to use a gift (that I shouldn't have accepted) to benefit another less fortunate person?

    I was given a gift certificate by a business person for just doing my job. I am not allowed to accept gifts from business partners... It was given to me 2 years ago and I have not used it. I always intended to return it to the person. I would like to give it to someone who needs assistance.
