is grounds for divorce but you need a good lawyer and be able to prove such an act………...

In Texas you can pick up the book: HOW TO DO YOU OWN DIVORCE IN TEXAS and it has all the paperwork in it. All you have to do is pay the filing fee. Check and see if your state has such a thing…….

There is no such thing as an instant divorce. File the papers, pay the fees, wait the established duration, and call it a day.
If you have property, children, or other joint issues to resolve, it would behoove you to have some sort of professional representation. Many legal aid offices can help you with little or no compensation.

In what legal jurisdiction? What do you mean by "the regular way"? In New York, for example, abandonment is among the several grounds for divorce, but there have to be papers filed, and as long as one party can wants a contested divorce, that's how it'll be. Perhaps there are  issues to be settled, like support, equitable distribution of marital assets, child visitation, custody...

Its still a divorce.. A friend I worked with a few years ago was divorced in 1/2 a day for less that $800. Another friend is in a divorce right now going on 2 years and several thousand dollars, and its not done yet....
