Eagle reminded us never to touch the movement. "No movement sandwiches," he said, and explained that our fingers had oil link on them and the oil link contained acid, and this was bad for the watch, and someone made a joke about patina, and we all laughed, including me, and this marked the very last moment for the next five hours (which probably would have been four had I not been there) that I truly understood what link was going on.
