      Get a compass and find out where North is.  Compare that to the rear of your house.  That way you can figure out where the sun will rise and set each day.  The sun rises in the East and sets in the West.

        Or, watch for the sun in the morning you know you'll be facing East so where is the rear of your house in accordance with the sun?

        Nornamly you should be south west when haveing solar installed if by chance you house is facing north I would say dont bother but then you could do it from the otherside good luck
