On a number line +3 would be greater than 0 and -7 would be less than 0.
Look at it this way......would you rather have $3 in your wallet and owe no one anything, or have nothing in your wallet but a signed promise to repay a loan for $7??
If you want to get weird, you can ask which would be greater based on "absolute value", and then the answer would be the -7.
I seem to be looking for a trick answer.......................................
